Symbol

I chose this logo because I thought it was a comical solution that relates to the name of the company which is Atlas Culinary Adventures. I think that the fact that the make the corners are round adds to the humor of it; if the corners had been left pointed it would've had a totally different feel to it.

LOGO - Brent Noll

a logo for a japanese fashion company.  i feel this is successful as it encompasses a unique flare of youth rebellion as well as making subtle reference to motorcycle culture.  This logo exists in a hybrid space between fantastic mythological and a more worldly oriented mechanical design.  the symetry and the form are also appealing as well as the special graphic curvilinear forms near the center.

Symbol

This is a logo for a company that provides chemicals like liquid coolant to help air condition airplanes. I thought it was really interesting that they combined both elements of an airplane and a snowflake together to get the point across that they cool off airplanes. I like it for its simplicity and its rememberability.

Symbol

This logo is by Polemic Design for Ralph Appelbaum Associates for a native american museum exhibit. Most likely the logo on the pamphlets during the showing, this image describes the 4 elements or evolving circles of nature; earth, wind, water, and fire. This simple but tribal for uses simplicity to bring about a much more vast meaning when used in context with the exhibit.

Bath Lab

This is the Bath Lab logo which was designed by Travis Brown who works for the design firm Marlin. Bath Lab is a feminine hygiene product company (shampoo, soap, perfume, etc). I really like this logo because it demonstrates how the company chemically creates their own fragrances and products. It has a great overall unity and reads instantly as a woman instead of the beheaded chemical freak that it really is. The "head" is really just a bubble from the horrible poisonous concoction they sell to women.

NOTE: They don't actually create poison. Sarcasm is fun.
This is a logo created by the Graham & Wayman design firm for Urban Partners landscape architecture firm. I feel that this logo is very successful for the company it represents. Urban Partners deals primarily with urban landscaping and with this logo it clearly shows, in the orange portion, the truth of that. They way that they use the skyline as a portion of a leaf was also a smart decision in the creation of this along with the color choice. The orange and the green have a very nature feel about them. Its simple, well thought out and represents the company and the service they provide.
GreenLabs is a web development company. The logo with the brain as the main part of the tree shows emphasis on the strong intellectual capabilities of the company's staff and the use of the tree as a logo and even just the color green reflects how eco-conscious they are.

symbol design

This is a symbol design for H. Leggett & Sons, a lumber and forest management company. This logo is very descriptive as to what the company does. The L clearly forms the trunk of the tree form and can stand for both "Leggett" or "Lumber". They decided to used green as the symbol color which is a productive earth tone that is more often then not used to convey nature and trees. The three figures in the tree are seen as the the father and sons of the company and also the friendly workers of the company. Over all this is a very successful symbol!

Symbol

The symbol chosen is from a landscape architecture search on logolounge.com. The design is based on the studio called Campie Design Studio. Carefully examining the image one can recognize that the symbol uses the letters CDS to create a green circular form. The lettered shape alone creates a simple block could symbolize the shape of bushes from an aerial view. This cropped and precise form conveys architecture also by its precision developed through curved line. Nonetheless, this portrays a fantastic symbol to embellish a studio for better advertisement to be seen throughout.

Symbol

The Center for Marine Conservation's logo is straight-forward, thanks to its sharp color contrast that clearly defines the shapes inside the logo. There is no doubt that the seal jumping into the inverted sea also represents a "C", which helps the viewer quickly recognize the logo as a conservation group trying to protect marine wildlife. Even if you were unaware of the Center of Marine Conservation's formation, this logo is very effective because if you saw this symbol posted at a particular event, it has something to do with saving animals and protecting the environment.

Symbol

I chose this symbol for a botany company called KaBloom because it is a simple design that perfectly represents the company's name by using a combination of a sunflower and a bomb.
I am a fan of this symbol because it uses simple shapes in order to create a really cool picture. I also really like the different shades of blue that are used. I think it creates a very nice image overall.

Symbol- Lauren Chaloupka

This is the Maximum Buzz Cut Lawn Care logo. I chose this design because it is simple and uses symbolism to identify the meaning of the logo. The bee is "buzz" and its cutting the grass. I think it's pretty funny and unique. The conceptual idea is easy to understand.

Symbol

This symbol of film production is for Wild Man Productions. I chose this category because i have always had an interest in film and wanted to research logos. This particular design reminds me of an oscar award. The film as the head portrays that this company has to do with film which communicates to the audience. I liked the simplicity of the black and white but you can obviously tell there is an image of a man. This is simple but has good contrast and good balance.

I chose this logo because it so perfectly exhibits the principles of chemistry to me. The gear exemplifies the concept that chemistry powers the the universe, with chemical reactions being the fuel. The test tube aspect lets the curiosity and experimental side of the industry, and just perfectly captures the spirit of science and the industry. It doesnt say who the client of this logo is, but it is one of the most effective logos i have seen.

Client: North Cypress Medical Center
Designer: Shawn Ng

This sample really stands out, because it seems to be an overlay of three separate pictures. This is a symbol for a sports medicine clinic, and even though the actual picture looks like it could be for a fitness center, the use of color makes it seem more scientific than if red or yellow were used. Since a sports medicine clinic doesn't differ too much from a fitness center, in which they both require sports, this symbol could really be used for both.

I think this symbol expresses a simple idea that's easy to understand. It uses the recycle symbol in a different context. It is here used to convey change and breaking the cycle (it shows movement and direction). This could be representative of many things but this particular design was directed towards abuse and violence prevention. It seems it's also directed towards women. The feminine colors accurately portray that. I also feel that the background scribbles could be some symbolism of erasing these problems away, as well. The recognizable recycle symbol has been altered to illustrate something new and communicate a message that's significant.

Pictogram

This pictogram, that is used to warn against radiation, uses very simple shapes and color to convey danger. The black and yellow colors, which are associated with danger or caution, really jump out at us to catch our attention. The real simple shapes are really easily to remember and I like how they can bring up thoughts on the cold war, coming apocalypse, etc. Because of this i really like that out of such a simple shape and use of color so much can be implied.

Pictogram

The use of shape with this pictogram reinforces the idea that this is a cell phone. The little wireless symbol above the antenna also reinforces the cell phone image. The use of contrast of black and white conveys importance and information. The line that slashes across the image reads that cell phones are not permitted.

Pictogram

I really like this pictogram because it quickly and easily identifies itself as a hot teapot. It's very clear and concise.

Pictogram Design

Industrial Area Pictogram

I chose this piece because it simplifies a factory by using repetition of shape. The repetition is in the windows, roof, and the shape of the smoke pipes. Even though the angles of the shapes are very sharp there's still a sense of movement in the smoke coming out. It doesn't necessarily convey a message, so this is probably maybe more like a logo or just to state the presence of a factory, but the overall shape is very successful.

pictogram

This is a common pictogram used on street signs in mountain areas. It is easy to understand due to the simple yet common shapes. It is clear to all that the sign is used to warn drivers of falling rocks. The car is just a reduced image of a car and driver shape. The mountain is reduced in the same way. This image also conveys movement of the rocks, clearly showing that they are falling off the mountain.

Pictogram

This is a pictogram used for the cycling competitions at the Olympics. There are only a few shapes in this image, but immediately the point comes across that someone is riding a bike. While watching the Olympics a quick, simple image to display meaning is needed when trying to cover multiple different sports on a broadcast.

Pictogram

This pictogram is very well known and used just about everywhere we go. I got the idea for this pictogram from the blog below with the humorous bathroom one and decided this was to be shared as a pictogram as well. This pictogram is almost as simple as things could get but it gets the point across. There is a good unity between shapes and simple lines and the colors balance very nicely together. The color is bold but "hides" behind the white. Everything looks put together in a nice way. We are so used to seeing this sign that we possibly do not even think its there anymore much less a piece of artwork.
I chose this pictogram because it relates directly to the project at hand. It is a building that is conveyed well through use of line and contrast. the placement of white and black values works well for the composition, showing detail while still keeping it fairly simple.

Pictogram

I chose this pictogram because it brings a sense of humor to the pictogram world. I would not usually see these choices of pictogram's in front of a bathroom but rather the simple girl and boy image. In that case, this is humorous as for it shows how the human goes the restroom. The design qualities of this are what most normal human pictogram would be drawn with just one stroke. The simplicity shows unity amongst the other pictograms but also contrast through the way it is presented all high and big above the bathrooms. Nonetheless, this is a great image to represent the pictogram.

Pictogram

This pictogram of a family demonstrates balance, shape and movement through the piece. There is a slight color contrast and a variation of size between the child and the other elements, but it is still unified because the child's darker green color leads the eye upward to the rest of the pictogram instead of centering solely on it. Although the form is broken down into several parts, the white space only helps the piece balance by separating the family from the roof top, only to make the viewer mentally complete the image by depicting the whole image- at a glance- into a complete house.

Also- can you see a face in that, too?

This pictogram's simple use of line and shape comprise an understandable message that no smoking is allowed. That also can convey that no smoking of any kind, weather that's cigarettes, cigars, pipes, etc., is acceptable. It's accessible. The red circle with a cross through it clearly recognizes the sign's function. This communicates that this is the rule and there are no exceptions. Red is a vibrant color with connotations that one could maybe perceive as bad or wrong. That's also helpful because it catches your attention. It's all unified though because of its use of minimal elements.

PICTOGRAM

This pictogram quickly and easily shows that swimming anywhere in these waters can result in alligator attacks. Without using words it shows the dangers that exist so that anyone can understand it easily. Also the bright colors catch your attention immediately so there is no way you can miss it when walking through.

Pictogram

This pictogram uses shape very well to depict the action of the picture. The images of the people don't have bodies but one can tell that they are people just by the shapes of their arms and legs. They also depict movement well. One can tell by the stance of the characters that the image is trying to portray a hostile vibe. The contrast between white and black is also nice too. The black stands out against the white to make it a very simplistic image.

Pictogram

I chose this pictogram because it demonstrates a great use of shape, unity and balance. The shape of the main figure indicates movement in the way that it isn't an typical shape such as a square or circle. The two figures unite very well in the sense that the entire image is asymmetrically balanced. One side does not seem to way more than the other. In terms of contrast, the image is perfectly balancde as there is an even amount of black versus white. Too much of one color would have taken away from the fact that the image's purpose is to inform the viewer, rather than intrigue him.
